AN ITALIAN DREAM - PART 1

Napoli, Local Beaches, Pompeii

After a year of dreaming, brainstorming and wondering whether travelling would happen, it did. A different adventure compared to what we originally planned, but much better for what we needed. B & I decided travelling around Central & South America was an adventure that was a little too big for our budget, time frame, and in all honesty, it seemed a little too big for me to deal with right now. I think it was a big jump and I needed to start off with something smaller that gave me an idea and a taste for what a longer stint of travelling would be like. So, we decided to head on a 16 day adventure around Italy and wow it was wonderful. We created beautiful memories that I will never forget and I did not want to come home and I’m so proud of myself for doing it with complete ease!!! I feel like I’m getting good at this whole game of doing big things and not letting my anxiety get in the way!

More than seeing Italy, I was excited to be spending 16 days with B. Being in a long distance relationship means that we do see other each quite a lot, but spending two weeks together is something that happens once in a blue moon so it was lovely and exciting and very needed for it to be just us, doing whatever we wanted, when we wanted, how we wanted with only ourselves to please. Naples is beautiful, seeing the ruins of Pompeii was a childhood dream, my inner history geek was beyond happy and it is stunning there and climbing to the top of Mount Vesuvius was something I ticked off the bucket list! I ate unlimited amounts of croissants, pizza and pasta and all the wine and coffee. It was great.

Prepare yourself for plenty of pics and tons of wanderlust…
